juj and i went to visit b-ritt in south jordan last weekend. it was much much fun. trampoline action photos coming soon. we made chicken delicious and amazing pancake breakfast. good times with little mckay too. fun memorial day for us.

i've been listening to a lot of npr lately, and today there was a segment on the issue of the Catholics and the Mormons. The Catholic church recently issued a letter to all bishops in the united states, advising them not to allow the Mormon church to take deceased members records for geneology purposes. the issue was that of proxy baptism. baptism for the dead. if Catholics don't believe in Mormon baptism, what does it matter? a bunch of Catholics that called in were butt-hurt about their ancestors being baptised. honestly, i can understand. sort of. but wouldn't you want your loved ones to have options? IF your church is wrong, and mine HAPPENS to be right, wouldn't you want your family to be in good standing? we are not trying to offend anyone, we are not trying to question other people's beliefs. all we are doing is what we know as the work of the Lord. Don't judge. Don't hate. Your dead ancestors know more than you do so just let us do our thing and we'll let you do yours.

what a blustery night! the winds crashed and the rain came down. fortunately, the little bits of water washed away the dirt caked to our parking lot from last weeks flood. the sewer backed up and was literally waterfall-ing into our parking lot. i'm glad it doesn't smell like poo anymore...

back to the grind tomorrow. got back from california tonight. i'd like to say that i have a ton of pictures coming soon, but i'd be lying. i took 3 pictures. two of lauren, and one of both of us. but it was great weekend. i love california. the trip wasn't long enough. glad to be done with the allergies though. to be honest, its a little depressing i'm back here. but i hear spring term is fun. so we shall see.

i had THE art history test today. the big one. here's my favorite cathedral. Laon, France. Laon Cathedral. sextipe ribbed vaulting, compound columns and piers, more light than any cathedral until its time. revolutionary almost.favorite building ever you ask? oh no. that would be the Pantheon. can't wait to go there some day...thats what i call revolutionary.

i tried

i tried posting a video of my brother and cousins throwing 3/4" ball bearings at each other, but its taking way too freaking long. big D got a beating. but ren has a bump and bruise on his big toe.

as i let my brain stew over the wise words i have heard this weekend, i think of the most wonderful place on earth. my house. not here. oh no. the one in the yay. its a nice house. i miss it. and here is the countdown until i am able to spend a few sun-ups in my hometown:

festival of colors was last weekend. it. was. AMAZING! probably the most fun i have had this entire semester. with broomball a close second. pics coming soon. guest artist in b66 tomorrow. totally gonna go and play with some clay. finally. its about freaking time! i just need my own space down there.... can't wait to get started into the bfa....

i have put myself in quite the little pickle here. i miss my good friend paul. he is on a mission. and it is pretty darn hard for me to not talk to him for this long. but, time flies. he's been out for two and half months. wich sounds like for-ev-ver! let me tell ya. in a perfect world, i would have gotten my second letter by now. but nope. no such letter. kinda going crazy here... advice???

also, the announcement is finito! take a gander. let me know what you think. also, wording was changed. and small differences. but it is essentially the real deal.

the announcement: she loves my design. and i love my design. problem is, the one she likes is the exact one i wanted for mine. stink! i will just have to come up with something even more awesome.
also, the last 3 weeks of my life have been rather hellish. i really can't stand to do another winter semester. ever. they suck. and i think that if i'm not already on a mission, next winter, i will be in some random place working. maybe i can use it as my summer and go spring and summer. cus i hate this. byu is stupid for not letting us have a break. stupid dumb poop.

a friend of a friend asked me to make her wedding announcement. hello world! let me now be known as the amazing graphic designer i should be!!! we shall see if this thing actually works and i can get some money out of it. but, i think it will be fairly easy considering i already have an announcement she loves. updates on my budding business will be coming soon...

mid semester blues

darn the person that invented the winter semester with no breaks. this semester seriously is the dumbest dumbest semester ever. too much work, the end is not quite in site, and your last vacation was way too long ago. the work never ends, and there is no spring break you can look forward to. once we get to april, i will feel a bit better about things... but until then, i say "darn the person that invented the winter semester"!!!!!!
